VicForests appointed Nathan Trushell as the new Chief Executive of VicForests following a successful period of acting CEO.

Michael Humphris, VicForests’ Board Chair, commented:

“It is with great pleasure that I announce Mr Trushell as VicForests’ CEO. Mr Trushell has more than 20 years’ experience in natural resource management, much of which he held various senior forestry management positions within Victoria. He brings with him a depth of knowledge gained over many years of facing challenges and opportunities as the industry has evolved and modernised. Mr Trushell’s appointment comes following an extensive recruitment process which attracted a strong field of applicants.

The significant level of interest in the role provides the Board with confidence we have found the right candidate for the job.

The native timber industry is a dynamic and challenging environment and we believe Mr Trushell is the right person to take VicForests, and the important role we play in the industry, forward.”

Earlier VicForests informed that the company was seeking comment from local community members on its proposed Timber Utilisation Plan  relating to small-scale timber harvesting operations across Victoria.
