Lenzing Group plans to build a lyocell fiber production plant in Thailand

Lenzing plans to build a state-of-the-art lyocell fiber production plant in Prachinburi, Thailand. The company expects to take its final decision for the construction of the plant in the first quarter of 2018, its completion is planned for the end of 2020.

The planned production plant will be built like the existing mill in Mobile, Alabama. It will have a capacity of up to 100,000 tons.

The company established a subsidiary in Thailand and bought a plot of land in the 304 industrial park in Prachinburi near Bangkok. Lenzing plans to get approvals and finalize the technical plans in the next months.

This project is expected to strengthen the global Lyocell network of the Lenzing Group and enable the company’s global customers to purchase our TENCEL® fibers from Europe, North America and Asia.
