GD Holz Service received Monitoring organization recognition for ​​EUTR from the European Commission

The German Timber Trade Federation (GD Holz) informed that its daughter organization GD Holz Service GmbH received Monitoring organization (MO) recognition for ​​the EUTR and its implementation in Germany from the European Commission.

Accirding to the announcement, the examination was carried out by the Federal Institute for Agriculture and Food (BLE) in December 2016. It included an examination in the premises of the GD HolzService GmbH in Berlin as well as some participants of the MO on site. The final result of the audit confirmed performance of GD Holz Service.

For more than two years, the GD Holz has been offering for importers service of a due diligence system and counseling as part of the EU Timber Trade Regulation. More than 90 companies have committed themselves to this service.

Earlier GD Holz observed more than 3% increase of timber sales in the country in 1Q2017
