Fatality incident at KapStone Paper and Packaging paper mill in the US

KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation  reported an incident at its North Charleston, SC paper mill. According to the announcement, occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. EDT, Sunday, April 30, 2017, an incident involved employees performing maintenance work in an operating area that was offline for repairs. It resulted in the fatality of one employee and injuries to a second employee.

The second employee was transported to a local hospital and released.

The incident was reported to South Carolina OSHA and is currently under investigation.

In 1Q2017 KapStone Paper and Packaging Corporation reported 3.7% increase of net sales and 8.5% decrease of Adjusted EBITDA.
