Bergs Timber invests into a new biofuel boiler at its sawmill in Sweden

Bergs Timber announced a SEK 25 million investment in its Mörlunda sawmill. According to the announcement, it plans to install a new biofuel boiler at the production site. Construction will start in autumn 2017 and commissioning is planned to be completed in the summer of 2018.

The new 6 MW boiler has a better combustion and more efficient cleaning of flue gases. It will replace the existing boiler, which  was built in the 1980s.

The investment is expected to allow higher utilize the company’s drying capacity and support more stable operation for the driers.

In December 1, 2016 – February 28, 2017 period Bergs Timber increased sales by 31.2% to SEK 258.3 million (USD  28.4 million).


Earlier Bergs Timber AB announced an agreement to acquire all shares of Jarl Timber AB from Norvik Hf.
