Södra informed that the company’s sawmill at Långasjö in Sweden had been certified by Swedish Wood for the production of certified pre-painted cladding (Certifierad Målad Panel, CMP).

According to the company’s annoucement, CMP is a guarantee for quality-assured and factory-painted external cladding panels. A certified CMP supplier must meet the requirements and guidelines issued by Swedish Wood.

Fredrik Gustavson, Sales Director, Södra Wood Scandinavia, commented:

“CMP means that suppliers can guarantee the quality of their processing, finishing, paint systems and raw material. The certification mark means that each panel can be traced – that we know where it comes from and how it has been treated along the way. CMP represents a quality-assured panel, a product with a “stamp of quality” and a guarantee that the product is as good as it gets. And a sustainable choice for external cladding.

We see CMP as a product of the future that minimises the time spent on design and installation, reduces the need for maintenance over the service life of the facade, and cuts total costs. A huge benefit is that it can be installed at any time of the year. That helps to promote timber as a construction material in Sweden. Sustainable and functional options are important for adapting to climate change.”

Södra began producing primed cladding at its sawmill in Långasjö in 2013.

Earlier Södra increased saplings planting by 27% in autumn 2016 planting season.
