Schilliger Holz expands a glued laminated timber production in Switzerland

Schilliger Holz replaces a glued laminated timber (glulam) production line in Haltikon, Switwerland with a new, more productive machinery. The core element of the new equipment is a new rotary press.  The commissioning will be carried out by the end of 2016 – beginning of 2017.

The expansion project includes chipping and finger tapping systems, planing machines, a band saw, a new sorting line for dried cuttings and a new bearing system.

With the investments, Schilliger Holz AG expects to increase the efficiency of gluelam production. According to the announcement, the new systems will also be used for the already existing planking plywood.

In addition to the investment in Haltikon, Schilliger Holz AG is also strengthening its further processing operations at the Volgelsheim site.
