Klabin will run planned maintenance shutdowns at its pulp mills in Brazil in March-May 2017

Klabin announced maintenance shutdowns at its two units in Paraná state of Brazil.

According to the announcement:

  • the Puma Unit in Ortigueira will undergo its first maintenance shutdown in the period of March 19-31, 2017;
  • the Monte Alegre Unit will be shut down for maintenance in the period of April 24-May 3, 2017.

The company contracted around 150 companies for the maintenance services, which include inspection of boilers, digesters, pipelines, power generation and distribution systems, and control of the entire production process, among other activities – all this to ensure the safety and reliability of plant operations.

Earlier Klabin inaugurated its new pulp mill in Brazil.
